Antrodia cinnamomea Extract, also known as Niu Zhanggu, belongs to the order of non pleated fungi, the family of porous fungi, the genus of thin porous fungi, and the perennial mushroom class. Its Latin name is Antrodia camphorata, and it was a new species only published in the biochemical community in 1990. Its growth area is in the forests of mountainous areas in Taiwan, with an altitude of 450 to 2000 meters. It only grows on the inner wall of the decayed heartwood of the cow camphor tree trunk, which is endemic to Taiwan for over a century.
